Back last summer, one day, a man asked me a simple question. Exact words escape me, but the gist was “Mr. Heishman, when did you first start working?” I’d never thought about it before.
I was/am a farm boy. My Pap believed in chores and work. Play and leisure came second. That’s not to say I lacked for time to swim, hunt, fish and use my imagination generally, but I worked as I grew and learned, became more capable of carrying my share of the load.
