Republican J. Hunter Williams has requested a recount of the votes in the Nov. 6 election for Hardy County Commissioner seat. County Clerk Gregg Ely confirmed he had received the formal request and a $300 bond on Thursday.
Williams’ request came after official election results were certified by the Hardy County Election Canvass Board on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
The official results show incumbent Democrat William “JR” Keplinger with 2,551 and Williams with 2,540 votes.
