A controversial ending to the Hardy Girls Hardwood Classic gave Moorefield the win in the rivalry match 46-42 last Saturday.

Moorefield took a 43-40 lead with 27 seconds left on a pair of free throws by Savannah Kite.

“We pulled it out in the end and made our foul shots. I expected us to play a little better. We’ve been struggling as of late. We came out and played hard,” Moorefield Coach Paul Keplinger commented.

“Marilyn [Cassell] is a good player. We came out and played some good defense, made some plays.
